Poems to the Lithuanian Motherland
In the early morning the poetry bird flew to the school and landed. It carried the Lithuanian flag and announced that now was the time for poetry. Our students cheerfully learn their poems by heart. That’s what makes teachers and parents happy. The day of Lithuanian Reindependence is an especially important date for Lithuania and for every Lithuanian. That’s why our students learn poems about Lithuania. We named this event “Everyone a Poem to the Lithuanian Motherland.” All 26 of our students learned a poem. We were especially happy and surprised with the students that memorized and recited a poem for the first time. We thanked and generously applauded them. It was a happy day at the school. We finished the day with a general rehearsal for the February 16th Commemoration.
