We were beginning to feel the autumn chill
On October 19th, the sun shined to the classroom windows, but we were beginning to feel the autumn chill. It is official, the autumn is here. It is not surprising that during the lessons the students were motivated and very focused. The children worked diligently in the lessons for the sake of the Lithuanian language competences. Some classes moved forward with their activities and competences that they didn't even required homework. Our elders read and explored the legend of "Rugiagėlės," we read the story of a mother's sacrifice for her child. We answered the questions about the text, as well as finding out what a legend is. Our elders also willingly shared their reflections on what constitutes wealth. Everyone understands that true wealth is health, also family. At home, students will read the text "Pavėluota pabaiga" and "Pabaigtuvės." In the lessons of history we have analyzed the major events of Lithuanian history in the context of a rap song. Our middle children received gifts, notebooks and pens from Lithuania. They read and analyzed the tale "Varna ir Sūris", supplemented text’s visual language with adjectives, and created the title for the tale. They also looked at historical sources and explained why they are important. How and why the first mentions in historic sources are deeply important for our history. Our younger ones worked very intensively, took an active part in the lesson, did speaking and reading exercises. Poetry celebration is within reach, thus next Saturday the children will attend poetry workshops, create their own poems, and learn about modern poetry movements.
We are moving forward zealously and creatively.
