On Sunday, December 13, the Washington Lithuanian community gathered for a Holy Mass at the Epiphany Church, which is in the old town of Washington. The Mass was attended not only by our students, parents, and teachers, but also by those from the Kristijonas Donelaitis school community.
Both schools presented holiday programs. The church was full of people. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Monsignor Rolandas Makrickas. After the Mass, the Washington Lithuanian community enjoyed the beautiful Christmas carols sung by the schools’ communities.
The concert uplifted the spirits of all who attended. Monsignor R. Makrickas thanked the schools for the nice Christmas program and expressed his joy that the performances and smiles of the children touched the congregants and so well expressed the spirit of Christmas. He gave his wish that the spirit and goodness of Christmas lead everyone to noble deeds and thoughts.” The Sunday was meaningful and beautiful.
