DISCUSSION ON COOPERATION WITH THE NAUJOJI AKMENĖ REGIONAL PUBLIC LIBRARY

On December 17, the Board of the Lithuanian School of Washington discussed working on a project with the director of the Naujoji Akmenė Regional Public Library, Zita Sinkevičienė. The library recently won the national Martynas Mažvydas Library project award to create a website for Lithuanian literature.  The aim of the project is to make broadly available information about literary figures and famous people of culture who came from the Naujoji Akmenė Region, as well as their books, poetry, and biographies.

There will also be posted on this website the work created by the students and teachers of the Lithuanian School of Washington, information about literary events, and other information showing how we cherish Lithuanianism.  The website will familiarize our school with the culture of the Naujoji Akmenė Region and the work of its library.

We look forward to an intellectual and creative cooperative relationship.
