Thanksgiving day
November 24th has been extremely busy, poetic and even full of theater. We all lived in the rhythm of last week's Poetry Celebration. Children will never forget this feeling and power to be able to create their own poems and recite poetry in Lithuanian.
Our little ones zealously rehearsed for Christmas Celebration. Other students each individually had the opportunity to individually read and learn Christmas poems with a teacher. All classes trained their voices, singing Christmas carols that help them develop not only linguistic but also musical skills. During the dance lessons, our students were extremely hard working while preparing for both, the dance festival and Christmas celebration. Our students are showing great progress. After all, dance is poetry, just in another form. And last week we got comfortable with poetry.
During the history lessons, the students read the song "Lietuvos istorijos repas" by the group “Šventinis bankuchenas". By means of this song, the children discussed important events that helped shape the state of Lithuania, and some classes even reached the Second World War period in Lithuania. The students developed their linguistic and grammatical skills by engaging in an interesting word chain method. Our elders also started reading the classical work by Antoine de Saint Exupery “The Little Prince”. Our little ones read and analyzed the song "Nilas", as well as played a game where they had to think Lithuanian words and phrases.
Thanksgiving theme helped the little ones learn the words of gratitude and their importance and the children shared what they are grateful for.
“When we learn to be thankful, we learn to see the good around us”.
