All Souls' Day
November 2nd, Lithuania celebrated All Souls' Day. In classes, we devoted part of the first lesson to All Souls' Day. We lit candles, introduced the old tradition of celebrating All Souls' Day, and compared the customs and traditions to Halloween.
Preparation for the Poetry Day was in the full swing — each of us choosing a poem to recite in two weeks. Senior students read to each other their own poems, which they wrote during a creative writing workshop.
Students in the classroom spoke a lot of Lithuanian, read the text "When it snows candy" by K. Marukas, did text comprehension tasks, continued to develop their language skills through the "sentence chain" method, diligently filled in dictionaries, and used newly learned words in sentences.
Senior students were writing an essay to develop their spelling skills.
Every Saturday, we are moving forward with great enthusiasm and creativity.
