Opening A School Library And The Washington Book Fair
This Saturday teacher Marija solemnly addressed the school community reciting thoughtful verses of Martynas Mažvydas. She then asked all of her ninth-graders to discuss the books they have been reading lately.
It was fun to watch the students’ faces as they described how they chose books. The parents expressed their satisfaction for the school’s role as a “booksmuggler,” bringing Lithuanian-language books to Washington, because not everyone has the opportunity to go to Lithuania to buy books.
