Back to school after a snowy weekend
On January 25, we returned to school after a snowy weekend. Longing for Lithuanian language, history, songs, music and dance, we immediately dove into the work. Our little ones made word cars for themselves to expand the vocabulary. The little ones in the classroom were studying the topic the Kingdom of Things. In the course of their tasks, they tried to compare objects in the home and at school, their properties, and group them according to their attributes. Much attention was paid to the use of prepositions. The children also analysed the chant about Lithuania, which they sang and recited and even danced by its rhythm. The children talked a lot about their dreams, future jobs they would like to work when they grow up. On Saturday our elders learned to talk about the holidays, paid close attention to pronunciation and the subtleties of Lithuanian grammar. Oh! How many of these we have!
During history lessons children engaged in tasks for the revision of their knowledge. They talked about the events of Lithuanian history in the context of the periods of world history, we remembered what we talked about in the last lessons: baltai, pagan goddesses and gods, Kingdom of Lithuania, Grand Duchy of Lithuania. We also discussed the reign of Vytautas and why he is considered the Great, and watched a movie about the Battle of Grunwald. By a free dance rhythm, we fiercely continue preparing for the dance festival, as well as remember the message of the recently passed January 13th: that every day we are on the path to be free individuals. Let us all remember that Lithuanian language is the language of freedom.
