The last day of winter
February 29 — The last day of winter. At school we said goodbye to winter and were happy to welcome spring. Our little ones learned new words from the cards and watched a movie about the bread's way from sowing rye to baked bread. We could smell the bread, talk about the slice of bread, the flesh and the crust. The children gladly tasted different kinds of bread and decided which one was the best for them. Still children learned to recite the poem "Katu katu katutes". After watching the movie "Pagrandukas", the little ones wrote the letter N and made their names in different shapes and made them around the house. This class visited teacher Paulina's class and told her students about bread and read a book called The Way of Bread. Our elders continued the theme — my birthday. The students wrote about their birthdays, read it to friends, and shared impressions of their birthday celebration. The fifth grade read Anna Jautake's "Birthday with a Sparrow" and analyzed the character Titus' birthday wish. The oldest kids read about morality. Looking for life-like examples of morality, he wrote an essay outlining his understanding of morality. Everyone's goal is to be an honest person. In history lessons, children participated in competitions. When they received the paper button, they had to "click" as soon as possible if they knew the answer to the question. Prizes are promised to young historians who have collected the most pluses. The children were full of energy and eager to answer aloud, apparently spring came to history lessons as well. We are looking forward to spring as we have already experienced the flood of joy. See you again on Saturday.
